New online magazine: AmsterBiome – Amsterdam-based Microbiome Online Magazine

To understand more about how the different ecosystems are connected to each other through their microbes, several junior researchers from MetaHealth have started a Microbiome-related Online Magazine.

The platform aims to serve as a network ecosystem for researchers in the field between them and with societal players and microbiome science enthusiasts.

When we think about the human microbiome, we mostly believe that it is shaped by our dietary habits and that nutrition is the golden intervention to modify it. However, also our environment has a big impact in the diversity of our microbes and therefore our health. We should not picture our microbiome as an isolated entity, but rather as a flower garden that is situated next to others where species can interchange themselves and goods between them.
