Dr. Margo J. van Hartingsveldt is an occupational therapist and professor of Participation and Environment at the Faculty of Health, Sport and Exercise at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Her professorship is affiliated with the Bachelor’s program in Occupational Therapy and the European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (OT). She is involved in various research projects in the fields of Technology and Participation, Diversity, Justice and Participation, and Children & Youth and Participation.
Margo has made an important contribution to the development of occupational therapy in the Netherlands. She is the first author of the Professional Profile of the Occupational Therapist and an editor of the last three editions of the standard work Foundations of Occupational Therapy.
In addition, she is vice-chair of the Research for Occupational Therapy and Occupational Sciences (ROTOS) Foundation and chair of OT-Europe, a European foundation that focuses on education, research and practical development within occupational therapy in Europe.
Margo has been a member of the advisory board of the MetaHealth program since 2025.
