Eline van der Beek holds a PhD in neurobiology from the Faculty of Medicine at Utrecht University and has extensive experience with more than 25 years of research in both academic and commercial environments.
Since 2016, she has been Professor of Nutritional Programming (Endowed Chair) at the University of Groningen. Her preclinical, epidemiological and clinical research in molecular metabolism and nutrition is focused on understanding the role of nutrient quality and the contribution of maternal health and nutrition to child development. Eline has published more than 150 peer-reviewed research papers and is the inventor of more than 25 patent applications.
Since 2021, she is also head of the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences at Nestlé Research in Lausanne. This institute focuses on advancing nutritional research and developing science-based nutritional solutions for brain development and cognitive function, gut health and microbiome, physical performance and healthy growth, as well as metabolic health at all stages of life.
Eline is a member of the Advisory board of MetaHealth.
