Floor Hugenholtz has been working as a Program officer at NWO since 2021. Here she is involved in various thematic programs, with themes within microbiome research, food and biodiversity.

She holds a PhD in microbiology, where she studied the relation of gut microbiota to fibres in nutrition. In her following PostDocs she did further research on microbiota and the relations to infectious diseases. During the last PostDoc period in Amsterdam UMC (location AMC), she was involved in starting the Microbiota Centre Amsterdam.
