Gerlieke Veltkamp is an assistant professor in Health and Gender at the Sociology and ISW (Interdisciplinary Social Sciences) departments at the UvA.
She is interested in interactions between governing (health) institutions, professionals, families and youth and intersecting dimensions of health practices, gender, risk and trust.
Gerlieke uses ethnographic, qualitative, interdisciplinary and mixed methods and is embedded in research projects such as Sarphati Amsterdam, Personal Microbiome Health / MetaHealth and Urban Mental Health.
