Janine Sikkens is a researcher and project leader in digital health and health innovation at the Medical Technology Research Group of Inholland University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands.

With a background in Health Sciences (MSc, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) and extensive experience in medical technology, digital health, behavior change, and implementation, she focuses on translating scientific knowledge into practical solutions that support healthier lives and better healthcare. Throughout her career, Janine has worked in multidisciplinary collaborations involving researchers, healthcare professionals, engineers, businesses, policymakers, and end users.

Before joining Inholland, Janine worked as an innovation manager at Amsterdam UMC, where she contributed to the development and implementation of healthcare innovations. She has led and contributed to national and international research projects, with a particular interest in co-creation, participatory research, and sustainable implementation.

Within the NWO MetaHealth project, Janine leads Work Package 6, which focuses on dissemination, knowledge exchange, and implementation. She works to ensure that new insights and outcomes are translated into accessible and inclusive tools, resources, practices, and interventions that create impact for research, practice, and society.
