Marta Sousa is a dentist who earned her degree from the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the University of Porto. She also holds additional qualifications in the field of Endodontics. Her journey into the world of research began during the final year of her dental program, when participated in a research project studding the antibacterial resistance of Staphylococcus species in the oral and nasal cavities of a healthy population. This research experience ignited her passion for laboratory work.

Currently dedicates part of her professional time to clinical dentistry and serves as a Research Assistant on the MetaHealth project. In this role, conducts oral assessment of mother-child pairs.
