Vera van Stokkom is researcher at the research group Food, Health & Technology of Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Vera studied Food & Business at Inholland followed by the master Health Sciences – Nutrition & Health at the VU Amsterdam, which she finished in 2013. After obtaining her master’s degree she started working as a lecturer at Inholland University of Applied Sciences and quickly became more focused on research. She started a PhD in collaboration with Wageningen University on the role of taste in the acceptance of vegetables, which she finished in 2018. During her postdoc between 2021 and 2023 she investigated novel sensory consumer methods.

Currently, Vera’s research focusses on:

• the development & validation of innovative sensory- and consumer research methods: Sensory & Consumer Research,
• understanding consumer acceptance of plant-based foods,
• shaping healthy food habits in children via daycare centers and primary schools: Gelijk Gezond.

Next to her research, Vera teaches research methodology and sensory and consumer science at the bachelor program Food Commerce & Technology .
