Vera van Stokkom

Vera van Stokkom is lecturer and researcher at the Agri, Food & Life Sciences department of Inholland University of Applied Sciences. Vera studied Food & Business at Inholland followed by the master Health Sciences – Nutrition & Health at the VU Amsterdam, which she finished in 2013. Since then, she is working at Inholland University as lecturer and researcher. While working at Inholland, she obtained her PhD in Wageningen in 2018 on the role of taste in the acceptance of vegetables.

 Currently, Vera’s research focusses on:

  • the development & validation of sensory- and consumer research methods in practice,
  • understanding consumer acceptance of novel foods,
  • reducing health differences with a focus on shaping healthy food habits in children.

Vera is especially interested in research looking at the interplay between ingredients, foods, meals, diet, the consumer and the environment.
