Bernd Brandt is an assistant professor in bioinformatics at the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam.
After studying Molecular Sciences and Bioprocess Technology at Wageningen University, he received his PhD on mathematical modelling of biodegradation from the VU University Amsterdam.
Since 2002, he has been working as a bioinformatician in different areas of biology, such as longevity, virology, and microbiology, where he applied and developed tools for biological data analysis. Since 2011, he is mainly working on the relation between health and the microbiome, and (co)supervises MSc and PhD students working on microbiome studies.
