Dr. Joreintje Mackenbach is associate professor at the department of Epidemiology and Data Science of Amsterdam UMC.

Coming from a background of health sciences, she investigates the ways in which our food environments affects food choices and health outcomes, as well as the opportunities to improve the food environment. She combines theories and methods from various disciplines, including but not limited to geography, systems science, psychology, political sciences and epidemiology.
