Consortium meeting Autumn 2024

How are we creating impact?

What did we promise in 2021 and how do we see it in 2024?            

On Tuesday November 12 we had a successful Consortium meeting with the following program:

1.  Introduction by Egija Zaura

Introducing new members:

• researchers Josine Stuber, Zana Chadud Cosac, Shivam Kumar, Sofía Jiménez Ochoa, Coen Berns, Wikje Berends, Susanne Pinto and Aliki Antoniou,
• Janine Sikkens as future replacement of Laurence as work package lead 6 and
• Lili Genee as our new societal member of the advisory board.

2.  Update on progress of all the Work Packages by the work package leads, including AIMS cohort update by Arnoud Verhoeff  

3.  Impact plan: Theory of change by Egija Zaura

4.  Work package 1 and impact by Monique van der Veen, followed by discussion

5.  Interactive session ‘How can we go from science to society?’. The interactive session of our meeting was chaired by WP4 lead Bastiaan Krom. The following questions were addressed by the participants:

1. To push or to pull? Does discovery lead to innovative application?
2. Did ‘Open Science’ deliver? Does open science lead to more societal impact?
3. Curiosity killed the cat! Should society fund curiosity-driven research and is this currently sufficiently the case?
4. There are many things you can do, but only a few ONLY you can do! Is Team-science increasing impact?
